Unpopular opinion: Turbulence makes flights more fun

A flight without any turbulence isn't really a flight. You are flying 40000ft in the sky. The experience ought to be widely different from driving your own minivan, taking a bus or train, or even riding a cable car.
Also flights are rather boring and uncomfortable (I stay in peasant class). Turbulence shifts your attention to something else in which I appreciate.
Coach passengers sit in their seats (because the seatbelt light is on) because of light turbulence, which is more interesting than sitting in their seats when there isn't any turbulence.
Suspicious-Gur-8453 I'm a pilot and I don't disagree with you. However, over the course of a 20 or so year career flying commercial jets - I still hate the "a droppers". It's no fun to feel like you're falling. It's not a big deal for the record, but I personally hate the feeling in my stomach.
StandardAd239 Flew a Korean Air Dreamliner many years ago. Didn't even know the thing was taking off until the plane wasn't parallel to the ground anymore. Didn't feel a single shutter for hours and then halfway through the flight we suddenly just DROPPED. Felt nothing again the rest of the fight. I have flown many times in my life and that is the only time that's ever happened. I think that drop was worse than the worst turbulence I've experienced.
Splampin This feels like a quality unpopular opinion. Absolutely insane.
Cobra McJingleballs What's so bad about turbulence? It's harmless.
wjglenn Normal turbulence is not dangerous to the aircraft but can cause problems for unsecured passengers and items in the cabin. Extreme turbulence (like wind shear turbulence) can be dangerous, because it can push the plane down faster than they can compensate for sometimes. It's also extremely uncommon and pilots can mostly avoid it.
A plane flies through cloudy, windless skies, trying to avoid turbulence as much as possible for the safety and comfort of the passengers and the aircraft.
Apprehensive-Ear2461 My guy I just want to sleep and relax
tujelj About a decade ago, I was on a flight with such severe turbulence that people were literally screaming and calling out to god. The plane shook violently for much of the flight, and at one point, felt like it was dropping straight down for a moment. I really don't care to experience any turbulence at all after that.
mattincalif Yeah except when you really have to pee and the captain keeps the seat belt sign on the whole flight because of turbulence.
jngjng88 Genuinely agree. My first ever flight there was really bad turbulence, I had a window seat, looking out at the stormy clouds & experiencing the turbulence was such a rush that I will never forget. I absolutely loved it.
Consideration Due6569 I am scared of turbulence. I can feel and see a bump on a road. Can't see one in the air.
Kal-El21315 I don't need it to be fun. That is the job of my book, music, or movie.
Cobra McJingleballs There's something nice about turbulence where, unlike a luxury automobile, one can't buy their way out of a rough ride.
DueExample52 Planes can be the greatest equalizer. We are late? Everyone, rich and poor, is late. We are crashing? Everyone is sleeping with the fishes. Actuakly, maybe your first class ticket even just bought you a spot in less surviveable front section sometimes. Everyone... maniacal laughter
